Trauma-Informed Practice Training
Our signature Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP) Training was created to educate, nurture a compassionate workforce, raise awareness and support a curious mind that does not take anybody's behaviour at face value - both in your staff's professional and personal lives. Within the training we aim to support the confidence building of staff members who may encounter patients with complex emotional needs within their roles, whatever these roles may be.
We believe that transformation of healthcare services starts by staff being aware of the forms in which past trauma can show up in the present moment, for our ‘patients’ and ourselves, which some people may ordinarily mistake for 'challenging behaviour' and discard. Alongside looking at the forms, we explore deeper understanding as to why these ‘defences’ may have developed. This training is not only for our clients and patients' benefit, but also for the wellbeing of staff. This is in acknowledgement that a key part ofworking with ultimate positive regard and non-judgemental practice stems around the fact that we need to be self-aware, both of our own reactions and our own triggers. Henceforth, we are better able to act and not react.
